On the other hand, I'd be happy to celebrate the 4th of July.

Eeew, go celebrate Thanksgiving too :p
As you know I'm portguese and you know what? At the moment Portugal, as a state, doesn't deserve a day for people to celebrate such nation.
Perhaps Spain would be cooler, no? ^^

Why celerbrate the loss of English rule? You should be begging for forgiveness :P

Alternative, for any supremely patriotic Americans:
Ok, I watched part of the first movie. What is the point you are trying to make with that one?

With the second movie - well lets just say I'm in agreement that the US congress is holding us back when it comes to energy...
Like I said above Soccer, Part II and especially III are the parts u´ll b interested in.

That "movie" is quite disrespectful. The origins of the country are something to be proud of. Read the real history.

It seems to me that Lazy really despises America. He posts movies that insult the founding fathers, claim that September 11th was a conspiracy, and I don't even know what the point of the 2nd movie was. Maybe that the big bad evil gas companies are controlling every aspect of our lives.

No. My point is that some much deeper reflection needs 2 take place by us all. I dont despise any nation, nor any People. The point is that ,as was first stated in this thread, Americans shouldnt just "...read the declaration..." on this day alone. They should read a lot more on every other "normal day" in order to literally WAKE UP.

Nav u clearly didnt understand the 2nd movie at all

Soccer I meant no disrespect towards the "founding fathers". They were no saints! Great, courageous visionary men, but no saints. The great, late, George Carlin just had a diferent way of stating things that people forget.

The second movie was about massive oil reserves in Alaska that aren't being tapped, right? I believe the speaker was trying to say that gas companies are deliberately holding back on those reserves to jack up prices.
