The Wilderness Road - Special Skirmish Scenario...

Post by murdilator »

Any of you ever wanted to have a night/day dynamic weather with randomizing rain/snow/sunshine?

Then this is for you.

Have any of you ever wanted Ottomans to be able to get unlimited numbers of Spahi?

Then this is for you.

Ever wanted Samurai better and Ashigaru worse?

Then this is for you.

Ever wanted Elephants balanced?

Then this is for you.

Ever wanted Grenadiers good?

Then this is for you.

Ever wanted European special church techs to do a little something more?

Then this is for you.

Ever wanted a balanced and fun map, an unrated game with friends?

Then this is for you.

This, to say, is my first really "professional" published scenario*. It's more a skirmish than a scenario, so that is why I post it here. Also I post it here for it to get some attention. It contains a randomizer, fair natives, an extraodinary trade route, plenty of resources, and "strategic points" with "super" gold mines (3 gold mines, 5000 coin a piece). I will send the link here:

http://aoe3.heavengames.com/downloads/s ... ileid=2476

It can be playable with computers or people, as long as it is on LAN or ESO. But, as in all of my games, I only have one rule: Keep it TVB so that all the triggers (like winning/losing triggers especially) will work properly.

Note: I am currently working on a 3v3 version of this. Share this scenario with any friends you like. Don't feel shy to share it; but remember me if they ask who is the founder of the scenario.

*(I have 1v1OntarioV2, which is a little buggy on the download version. I have an updated version of it, called 1v1OntarioV3, where "V" stands for version)

Thanks!

Enjoy...

regards,

murdilator

You are all welcome. I devote this scenario to the clan and to any others who would like to try it.

It's not to hard to "install" for those of you who were wondering. Just unzip the pack, and place the scenario in [username]/my documents/my games/AgeOfEmpiresIII/scenario. Then you will be able to host this and play it. It is playable either on LAN or on ESO, with computers or humans in any slots (except for slot one, of course, who is the host. He/she is always a human player).

I'd like to give this topic a bump, for more people to try it and comment on it.

So, Why should you try this?

It adds diversity while remaining completely balanced. AS F a n Patch team made the game balanced, but much less diverse. I am using the balance, both theirs and some of my own, and many special features, to make something worthy of remembrance. It is my masterpiece. This isn't the average joe thing or just one of those really repetitive scenarios: it's a whole new age.

Dutch musket spam? You mean, you can train more muskets beyond the stadhoudters?

When you are upgrading Stadhouters, Imperial Musketeers is upgraded. That means you ship 30 Imperial Stadhouter Musketeers for 2000 coin instead of 30 Guard Stadhouter Musketeers for 2000 coin. If you have researched Stadhouters, and have reached Imperial, you can now train Imperial Stadhouters. That way, many people are encouraged in using those techs. In FP 1.1a Kulmucks now have audio, so I may have Russia get Imperial Kulmucks that are trainable in Imperial (versus having Imperial Baskir Hussars trainable in Imperial). Also, Germans get Imperial Polish Winged Hussars from Baskirs tech at church. And also with the other 5 European civs, etc. It really adds more diversity to the Europeans and while keeping the game quite balanced.

Just out of curiosity, do the uhlan upgrade cards affect the hussars, too?

Only card that wouldn't affect the hussars would be 'Lipenzzaner Cavalry' - that's unique to uhlans.

Cav attack, cav hitpoints, and cav combat would affect hussars if you go by the game mechanics.

The German Cav cards only effect Ulhans and War Wagons. I could use the British Cavalry Combat cards to make them get boosted though.
