Re: [Politics Warning] Can someone please explain...?

There are 1,000,000 little parts that are not known to anyone yet (e.g. 10% tanning bed tax??). Here are the main themes: 1) Health insurance will be mandated for purchase by all (circa 2013) or a $700-ish per person per year tax will be imposed 2) Businesses over 50 will have to buy health insuranc...
A cruel and heartless society.
That's just so wrong, I can't rationally respond. We're in the trenches helping people all the time. Some of us do have the belief that compassion with other people's money is not really compassion at all, but I s...

Re: @ my USA friends

Do a "think" better, like typing. ;) Yes, my post was USA-centric, due to the thread topic. I agree with many of your points worldwide. I would be careful comparing rich-poor through GDP though, as monetary measures in dramatically different systems are not necessarily a good point of comp...

Re: @ my USA friends

Huge topic to resolve in one little thread. Let me just make a few observations: 1) To have a better lifestyle than others, a group of people must be able to do something others cannot or do a think better than others can - otherwise no one will surrender their treasure to that group to support thei...

Re: Watch a true expert playing!

Well, auto-click can be implemented in software, regardless of the hardware he uses. I would be a pretty penny on auto-click in the clip I watched. It's not the speed of the clicking, it's the uniformity, and everything is either that uniform fast speed, or a slower, more erratic human-looking speed...

Re: Watch a true expert playing!

It looks like he has an auto-clicking mouse, maybe second buttons that are rapid auto click. Sometimes, he is auto-clicking where it is clearly dis-advantageous, combined with his click speed seems to be extremely consistent with time (look at how his click distance is a function of mouse speed when...

Re: New year resolutions

Work on improving as a Dad, step up my game at home. There may be some work related things I want to work on, but there are things undecided so I won't go into that at this point.

Cheers, all, and have a great 2010!!

Re: question with expert ai

The two basic strats to beat xpert comps are 1) a solid rush, or 2) an FF and defend, followed up by an attack at age IV or so. The comps are vulnerable to cavalry, so use those late game. Ranged infantry should be used in the earlier battles. Comps will hit you around 10:30-12:00, which is plenty o...

Re: Nespresso, what else?

I drink coffee by the gallon. This looks great, but it's a long way from my $9 (that's about 0.06 Euro for you guys across the pond) coffee maker and $6 bags of coffee. I did finally get a grinder ($20?). This thing is just too classy for me, but I have to admit it would be great. :-D

Other reasonable Opri boost suggestions: all damage is unresistable siege damage; self-heal while idle; able to build forts; ability to train more Opris; can act as a card delivery location; new Opri card to make them 1 population; stealth ability Just some thoughts, we need to find a way to make th...

Count me in the lone gunman crowd. The JFK movie is utter crap and most of the supposed magic bullet evidence that it used is fabricated. The shooting skills required (timing of shots and distance to the vehicle at the vehicle speed) were well within line for a marine marksmen of the day with that w...
