Ashi are OP enough to go even with gurkhas and zamburaks just don't have enough raw firepower to take down nagi, especially with ashi beating the snot out of them the whole time.

I think you're underestimating German skirmishers. They sound awesome. A little bit like Sean Connery or something.

I remember, Cyclohexane and I used to do a Port/Iro team early skirmishers thing with cassadores and forest prowlers. Team early goons, however... they just get countered too easily by xbows and other age 2 light inf.

As for Roman, you have to lure him in with your soldiers and snipe him with ninjas/strelets. Don't charge him with your diamyos.

I'd say on a land map, FFing or FIing is the only truly feasible strat the Ports have. Mamelukes are OP and their booming capability with map control is very good.
