Re: C.H.A.O.S.

^ Yeah Chaos. Point taken. I think your strat would be really good for team games where you generally mass one type of unit. In single player massing hussars only could be pretty risky if you don't have something to kill the pikes close behind.

Re: C.H.A.O.S.

^Chaos, my BO has five arriving from a stables at roughly the same time my shipment of 3 arrives. It's not that difficult either -- that gives right at the start of colonial. Then I usually worry about other things. Anywho, to each his own -- if it works for your playing style, more power to you.

Re: C.H.A.O.S.

^The only response I have is that on paper vs. reality can be very different Chaos. For example, playing silk road as a second card can be very dangerous vs. a spain FF (or any FF for that matter) as it slows you down by 40 seconds. You need to be harassing these civs immediately upon colonial to ga...

Re: C.H.A.O.S.

I like the idea a lot chaos; however, I do think there are better BO's to accomplish this goal. I play a fair bit of otto and when I get a replay (wish I had 2 vs. liet colonel's from last week), I will post it. I usually go for hussar/jannie or hussar/abus if i'm not FF/FI-ing.

Re: My first and second recorded game for review

With control groups you just really need to practice a lot and a lot... I would say that the people to truely master control groups are the top 100 players in the world. I mess up my control groups all the time and sometimes don't have fast enough movements to set and reset them during battles.

Looks like this might require some work. A project for the holidays I think.

Program to record a VOD

I'm looking for a program to record a VOD with. After watching some FPVOD's (first person video on demand), I think i'd like to share. Granted i'm not great, but some members could maybe learn something from them. It's got much more than a replay. Does anyone have anything in this regard? Or know wh...

Re: 36drew vs Harley14(nav) on Honshu

The waterboom is very strong. However early pressure always makes a waterboom tough. I'm not very good at going for the sea.

36drew vs Harley14(nav) on Honshu

This is a battle of the titans as the two best 1v1 players in the clan but heads. The game is a Britain(drew) vs Ports(nav) on Honshu. This is major vs. major. Neither of us elect for a water boom and we both stick to the land. Nav elects to go for his infamous raiding turtle while he builds his eco...

Re: overall civ consensus

MNBob, here are my thoughts in response to each civ suggestion: Aztec: overall UP - too one dimensional in relying on rush - needs key unit improvements (for example xpCoyoteMan) - major water balance problems (water dance, xpTlalocCanoe, etc) *Agreed on all points. I think coyotes need to be more l...

Re: Goals Thread

Alrighty... whoever wants to challenge me to an unrated (or rated) game with me as ports... BRING IT ON! Hahah. But really I think it would be fun. Might get some interesting replays out of it as well.

Re: Goals Thread

Hmm.. I would disagree on the port FF being their best strategy. It is equally is strong or 2nd to their FI. The key being that have some units to harass with along the way so it isn't a totally gutless FI. A fort helps too. :)
