Re: Is Japan overated ?
People seem a little upset here, and feel Japan is OP. Let me just mention that out of all 14 civs, 12 civs have a better win % than Japan. Japan has lost more games than it has won. Yes, Japan is used a lot, but it seems to me that these stats suggest ...

Re: Is Japan overated ?
The thing about Japan is that they're both unraidable and are completely invincible once they send a few cards for ashigaru. (They can have over 40 attack in age 2.) Naginata are also beasts once they have a few cards.
I discovered this when I trie...

Re: Is ESO down??
Maybe it was just timing. I tried 5 times in TAD and got E_Abort and last time was TWC was probably just a coincidence.iu that I got maintenance message.
Guess it's time to watch records and read N3O forums!!

Re: Is ESO down??
It is down. Only way I could tell was by trying to login with Warchiefs you actually get a message saying ESO servers are down for maintenance. TAD just gives you and E_Abort error!

Re: Brits me) vs Chinese 2lt
Very nice Game Chaos, that guy being 2nd LT I imagine had a lot to do with being China all the time. He had a strong rush but hung out in front of your TC the whole time barely dented your villies or military buildings. You made very good choices on units to build and sending Colonial Militia. He du...

Re: GG with drew ( My new mentor )
I was able to watch the begining in normal speed but speed it up for the rest of the game. Was a suprisingly close game for a while but be aware, just in case you're not. Drew was solving a rubiks cube for the first 8 minutes to add extra challenge to himself. IOW he's not familiar with ports or pla...

Re: Is Japan overated ?
Japans great, go over to our TAD strategies section and look at agesanctuary.com too. Also there's more than a few posts where people get into a decent amount of discussion about India. Most people think they are quite good with only a few faults. Very solid civ. Age 2 massing seems to be good. Util...

Re: The Mahout-Gurkha Crunch
I've added one modification to this strat since I had a India mirror rush me harder/faster. He musta did something to get a large food treasure but he also was more efficient with villies. So on average starting crate maps I send 1 or 2 villie to hunts instantly by the time my starting crates are ga...

Re: Anti Japanese strat (but is it fair?)
If hunts bonus on the shrines ruined it for him he doesn't really have a strong strat anyhow! It falls in the arena of any scorched earth strat. Fortunately in this RTS you can't force fire cannon to destroy forests!

Re: Mahout-Gurkha Crunch rec game
Gotta say this was a game we played to show Nav my SOitsWAR strat idea!! I'm not a great camel raider so I was showing it to nav so he could test it out for me. Not that i'd have a shot at beating Nav if I were fighting hard but, I'd probably have given a better showing than this game. I'll have to ...

Re: The Mahout-Gurkha Crunch
We actually had 4 of our clan prettydedicated to India until KingK dropped off a couple days ago. Nav,Macavity,Zorp & KingK My vs. China recording is an equally skilled opponent, if you take into consideration we're both 2nd LT's it's quite an interesting game I think. KingK,Harley, and I have a...

Don't they get multiple explorers too? I forget how, I'd be curiuous if anyone put that to good advantage in a game.

Re: ports
I think I recall a period where cassadore's were considered OP. But I only played Ports as my very first civ and wasn't even online gaming with anyone other than my co-workers at that point. I do remember chat and hubub about it though. I'm sure some other Vanilla veteran will remember!
