Checked the rec out - GG - although those 2 idle organ guns could have cost you dear. They sat guarding that gold mine for a couple of minutes while the rest of your troops were in their base.
Halbs/Cassa is a good combination though.

Re: Me port vs lt.col brit
... but if they are in your base they can kill the wagon before it builds and then you lose the shipment, so swings and roundabouts I guess!

Re: Me port vs lt.col brit
Yay! A proper Ports thread! :D I wouldn't use 2 tower card - 700 wood almost gives you enough wood for 3 towers or 2 towers and a barracks/stable. I am still working on how to hit the water best. Currently I send schooners in age 1, age up with 400 wood poli and then send 700 wood. Crucially this al...

Re: Me port vs lt.col brit
Thanks. I'll try this tonight after watching your replays. My FF strat was to not send a ship in age 1. I would take 400 wood poli with 14 setttlers and then drop a barracks, market and house on aging. I would then send 700 gold with 8 xbow just behind. As soon as I had 300 gold I would move settler...

Re: Scouting question for our OP leaders (suggested 30+ or s
I can tell a good player by the way they normally scout my hunts. They seem to find all of them and during the transition and then I often get a gutful of hussars coming my way!
Also, remember to continue moving explorer after the first 6-7 mins - which I often fail to do so!

I've been struggling with Ports of late (if not always), I will give this a good watch before I decide to give up on them or not!

Re: Straight to 10 WP (Infantry Training)
This is a treaty strat I presume. Otherwise, you're relying on no one attacking you for 10 minutes. Nice use of the card, but I would maybe drop a warhut and send 10 mace and maybe then look to the wp boost.
But hey, I'm on a massive 5 PR drop since moving to Ports, so what do I know!

Re: Somebody help
Ask a man who's also down - but for me it's due to learning the Ports! Pick one race for now and stick to it - chopping and changing too much only results in you forgetting things! Take the japs as a good solid rush race: 1. Age up with Tori gates for barracks and xp boost. 2. You should build a mas...

Re: Otto Pr 31 (drew) vs Iro PR 31
I still think Ottos are the king of the schooners boom - even better than Ports and (old) Aztecs.

Re: Dutch?
They seem a little slower in colonial, but reaching there still seems fine. Age up with 400 wood politician, send 700 wood as first card and have 3 banks up in no time ... I always tend to age up asap and only build settlers based on initial gold. This gives you up to a minute to play with in early ...

Re: Age Poll
There is a real split in the ages ...
Maybe our next tourney should be kids (up to 20) v old timers (30+) (I'm an old timer by the way!).

Agreed. Certainly he was commenting on the position of the bank before we saw it on the clip. Nice replay though.

He was banned from CBall as well if I remember right. Any others we've missed off?

[quote=""luukje""]Some people are just faster than others... lol. Seeing this is like comparing yourself to some true athlete. I never did any better than 11.50 seconds on a 100 meter sprint. If I would run it now I probably would have trouble making 14 seconds. But I would proba...

Re: Windows vista/laptops
My last 2 work laptops could both run TWC, albeit on lower settings than my desktop (don't tell my boss!). While there are gaming specific laptops (eg Alienware), what you really need is one with a dedicated (that's the key word to look for) graphics card in and not one where it's shares the main RA...
