Re: Learning English?

@kaiser: I just read some article yesterday on the influence of "cricket" terms on the english language and how difficult it must be for non sports adapts to understand those phrases like: "being on the backfoot", "hattrick", being stumped, being bowled over. Or for ame...

Re: Learning English?

I do think studying latin can be very usefull. As Kaiser explained, almost all our european languages originate from the same mother language. They are part of the so called indo european languages and have lots of common feautures. In fact about 50% of the world population speaks one of these langu...

Re: Which civ is considered OP by now?

It depends on what patch you play.

I think on RE, japan, iro and india are strong, aztec, germans, russia, brits can all compete. Otto and ports are bottom.

On FP, its Iro, dutch and french the strongest? Otto the weakest to?

Re: Learning English?

I got my latin for free from genuine catholic priests! Lucky me!

This one priest gave a quiz every day, 20 questions, if you got 5 or more wrong, you got a zero! If you got the first two wrong, you got zero.
And a zero was detention!
aaargh!

Re: 10 Hussar Semi Fast Revoultion

I like to perform a FI/FR with otto. Sometimes you can get 1 age 4 shipment going to compliment your hussar/militia force. 2 cannons or for otto, 12 abus can be usefull against HI and for some siege power. It can be even more viabele with a fish boom, as resources keep coming inn to build those fant...

Re: French against dutch, HELP!!

When I played dutch I always had trouble vs a double rax xbow/pike spam. because you are building banks most of the time, you are easely outnumbered and once you loose your early skirmisher they will just pressure you. When dutch herd well and with 8pikes, semi hussar ff vs dutch is the worst thing ...

Re: one of the many fails of wicked

I dont know if this can be of any help, but I have been playing Otto recently, and vs japan I just do an abus start, first card 700 wood, take trade route and build stable, while picking of some yumi and ashi, second card 700 gold, build some hussar and go kill those yumi. Hussar will own his nagina...

Re: holidays 2010: southeast USA

Well we will probably be doing some of the old southern cities, to get some of that real southern spirit and food. And then visit some of the most beautifull landscapes. We might even jump ut of the car on on to a horse for a few days. The world looks different from the back of a horse. Graceland mi...

Re: FP 1.2 Update Thread

Are they going to balance some merc shipments? ANd the saloon? By havin put some mercs in age 4, you can now get a saloon with age 4 merc and a pretty bad one like ninja or arsonist. So i think the weakest merc should get a bit of a boost: arsonist, ninja, corsair. Fusilier are OK but you just dont ...

Re: This is whats wrong with AOE

Had a 3v3 recently and after some scouting we found out that of 12 mines, there were 9 on the enemies side. we just had starting mines.
Map was great lakes.

I like maps with a bit of random in it, but it should be fair all the time.
