I have my merc boost card in my deck, but I don't use it often. When I DO use it however, is when I'm on a water map with extra gold and a saloon.

To be honest, not really... I mostly make long-range light infantry or cavalry, so I pick off vils here and there while I build up my army for an attack. I also take crackshots at his army.

I've never really tried a disciple FF, and have been having great success sending the 5 disciple card in age 1, and having an army of 11 free disciples from aging up, starting, etc. Just use those guys with your chu ko nu and steppe riders and you're set in age 2.
