Re: Japanese vs Brit
I actually think Britain would have a really hard time with Japan. They have no real counter to an ashigaru spam - longbows have a pathetic multiplier vs. heavy infantry, they're expensive/fragile, and they can't hit and run. Simply spam ashigaru backed up by yumi archers and naginata, and use the c...

Re: Old Games Can be Fun!
Agreed with everything you said. [quote=""Kaiser_von_Nuben""] I also noticed that SC2 is coming out soon. As I said, I'd never been an RTS player until this game. I also read that most RTS experts think that AOE3 is "easy" compared to SC2, and that the skill level in AO...

Re: A very interesting read
Just a word of advice from someone who made a lot of gold in that game. Don't farm, do dailies, or try to make money from gathering professions. It's one of the slowest possible ways to make money. Instead, play the auction house and find ways to get rich quick - people are so lazy that you can easi...

Re: A very interesting read
I have an obsessive personality so when I get hooked on a game, especially WoW (virtual crack...?) I tend to play it way more than I should, until I get burned out. Trust me guys, once you hit 80 and start raiding, you really can't accomplish anything unless you devote about 10-20 scheduled hours pe...

Re: Looking to come back to AOE3 again... again.
All good, I was able to get it working and got in a few games last night. Narrowly lost to a Japan as China, beat a Port with a China rush (China rush should never beat Ports), and beat a Japan with Germany.
Can't complain, right? I'm down for a few clan team games today.

Re: Looking to come back to AOE3 again... again.
Ok, so... I had AOE3 on my old computer, which is a piece of crap. I couldn't get connected to ESO at all. I finally got around to installing the game on my new computer, and I'm in the process of getting the fan patch working right now. Although I'm having some compatibility issues with Windows 7, ...

Re: Hi, I'm Cleeduz, and I'm a rushaholic...
Well, Cleeduz, what you can do if you enjoy playing offensively but want to be a more well-rounded player is to simply raid. It allows you to pester your opponent in the early game (and is fun as hell) while allowing the game to last more than maybe six minutes. You don't just need cavalry to raid, ...

Sure. I don't think I'll be able to get AOE3 working online on my old computer.

Re: Looking to come back to AOE3 again... again.
I may be able to get some game ISOs on my new computer, cause I've got Daemontools running for Dawn of War already.
Also, those old movies are up on youtube still. They're called "Super Player One RPG" and "Super Player One RPG 2" I believe.

Unfortunately I don't have my old vanilla or TWC CDs, so I can't reinstall the game.

Re: Looking to come back to AOE3 again... again.
Thanks all.
I'm still trying to figure out the problem connecting to ESO. I can connect to the internet with no problems and can play online with any other game I have - it's just ESO.
At this point I have no idea what the problem is...

Re: Looking to come back to AOE3 again... again.
Thanks guys.
I don't think I'll be exclusively playing AOE3 again, but I'd like to at least play it casually.
I'm currently running Symantec Antivirus on this computer right now, but I don't see how that could be causing the problem connecting to ESO.
