Re: overall civ consensus
Japanese are OK, just weaken their cards a little bit. I think close combat should be reduced to 20 or 10% attack, from 30. The multiplier increase is good enough. Here are my thoughts. China: Reduce the number of disciples you get going to age 3 by 3 or 4. Raise the cost of disciples by 10 or 20. M...

I also like the middle right one. They're all fine though.

Re: Goals Thread
They can survive colonial easily if they play it right, but once the enemy can get petards/cannons, it's really tough if you're relying on TCs for defense.

Re: Goals Thread
The Port water boom is good, the FF is decent, but once they get to industrial, heavy cannons and 20 range goons is pretty hard to beat...
I prefer a raiding turtle, though.

Re: Goals Thread
I guess you're right in that I completely despise them in every way and nothing short of deleting them from the game can change that. The fact that I play Ports and Germans doesn't help. I've decided to give French another shot.

Re: Signatures / Avatars anyone?
Yeah, I remember on an old debate forum, I had my "Some_Guy" sig made. I find forums boring too if there aren't avatars or signatures.
Also, KK, I'd suggest putting a quote or something onto your sig. Otherwise it's just a picture.

Re: Goals Thread
Notice how I didn't mention great house and the starting travois.
They got two of their major OP advantages fixed, but that's nowhere near enough to make the Iro anything but blatantly OP.

Re: Goals Thread
Their support cards do not form a strategy alone, but they are individually OP and can easily be used when you have the chance. People play mostly China now because it's just as OP and is a new civ. Once the novelty value wears off, Iro will become popular again. Look at TWC after the patch but befo...

Re: Goals Thread
I've been playing almost exclusively Ports recently. Basically, I just do my turtle/raiding strategy and mix in other units later, while shipping in muskets and xbows for anti-infantry. Against a defensive civ, I go infantry, go for map control, and boom. I'd be glad to do a few training 1v1s with y...

Re: Goals Thread
The Iroquois only got a slight nerf. Only two of their twenty or so blatantly OP unique advantages got taken care of.
I do respect your Ottoman/Aztec/German wins, though.

I'm sorry, KK, but you're using the Iroquois. Can you really say you're legitimately winning...?

Firefox is awesome. FAR better than IE. Not to mention that since the mainstream uses IE, most... unwanted guests tend to stick around there.

The competition gets far more brutal as you increase in rank; you can trust me on that. The higher level you are, the more aggressive you need to be.

Re: To the Minnesotan(s)...a question
I've been wading through over a foot of snow, and they show no intentions of closing any schools. The only way they will is if there are like 2 or more feet of snow.
