Done with TFoR 2! Just balance testing now.
Well, now that I have 2 weeks of being a lazy bum, I finally finished TFoR 2. I have all the triggers done and everything in place! I just need to do some final balance testing and I will release it! It's gonna be way better than TFoR 1. For one thing, I skipped the opening scene, which got boring a...

Re: The Mahout-Gurkha Crunch
Here's a good rec of me going against Zorp's sowar raiding. It works quite well and the game is over somewhat quickly, although my age-up time is slowed considerably by me being forced to get 5 sepoys for his cavalry.
Edit... what the hell? I can't post .ageYrec games on the forums at all!

Re: ports
I actually make very good use of the 2 explorer card in age 4. If you keep em alive, you can crackshot 3 units every minute or so. Very micro-intensive, but killing 3 cuirs/mamelukes/elephants per minute is HUGE.

Re: India vs. China on Andes
KK, I'm gonna have to disagree with you on the agra fort. Early-game, soldiers are almost all infantry, and infantry travel in right groups. That maximizes the splash damage caused by the fort, and its benefit is very helpful early-game. I almost always make it first when I play India. It also gives...

Re: China
I don't think you have read the general opinion on China.
Basically, it's that they're more OP than even pre-patch Iroquois.
I'd be glad to help you with India or Japan. I've taken a liking to both of those civs.

Re: C.H.A.O.S.
Yeah, I agree with Drew. I'd have to say 3 hussars is a better 2nd card and then 700 gold for my third. I don't think 4 villagers is necessary given the necessity of aggressiveness.
Anyway, great strategy!
Also, don't do this against Spain (Lots of heavy inf) or Iroquois (Lots of war huts).

The Mahout-Gurkha Crunch
Sounds like some kind of dance or some sort of cereal... Anyway, here's my guide for my Indian 50% turtle, 50% FF, but 100% funky Indian strategy! Sorry, that intro was... bad. Anyway, here goes. General strategy: To make one layer of walls and use gurkhas to pick off guys who are trying to attack y...

Re: Help needed with unit attacks.
Unless one of them is an edit, I believe they would be the same thing. Maybe I just happened to enter the name in two different ways... Unless it's an obvious edit, it's probably just a mistake on my part.

Re: Help needed with unit attacks.
Thanks for the positive feedback, AOwpr. Nice to hear people like my maps.
Anyway, look for TFoR 2 sometime soon! I will get working on it once I find some more free time. That's eluding me, though...

Re: Elephant effectiveness
I didn't know veteran/honored status increase gurkha range! Interesting... Anyway, howdahs and mahouts are forces to be reckoned with. Siege elephants are worthless. They cost 700 resources, do 100 damage to artillery, 400 to buildings, and 40 to everything else. They have 30% ranged resist and die ...
