GENERAL von Nuben??? You've been moving up in the world eh?
Great to see you back on the forums Ben, I'll have to try and get on at the weekend or something, see if I can catch you for a few bashings! :)

Re: KAISER VON NUBEN!!!
Great hearing from all of you! I'm going to do my best to round up some AOE action, but whether that happens or not, I'm back on the forums ;) It seems that even if a game fades into history, the dedicated fellows who played it never do.

KAISER VON NUBEN!!!
Gentlemen!
Yes, I know it's been an "Age" since I've seen you all last--and I can see that there are many of you here now whom I've never met! So much time has passed, but how many good memories I have of this place. Some things in life endure as we remember them, and it certainly looks like N3O is ...

Wow, guys! I got all nostalgic reading this thread. I'm so sad that intercontinental travel wasn't in the cards for me this year, but 2011 will be different!
I am so glad to hear that everything went well. And hopefully the northern Europeans didn't get too badly cooked in that Mediterranean sun :D ...

Old Games Can be Fun!
Hi guys! I've been working nonstop the last couple weeks. Life is good; it's just hectic. I got a cool new independent consulting job that pays pretty well. But the tradeoff is being "on-call" all the time and losing my weekends
Anyway, a couple days ago I managed to get down to my ...

Awesome watching those Marines run across that strip!

Episode 7 will be better. It's gonna be samurai sword vs. flamethrower action.
That's what I'm talking about.

Re: A very interesting read
Brilliant article. Thanks for posting it! I agree with all the points about the "real world's" system of reward for effort, and that is why people turn to video games for tangible--even if fantasy--gratification.

Re: The Pacific
Part 5 was pretty good. I have a feeling there will be more action in the later episodes, since the Pacific War intensified in brutality as time went on. The beach landing scene on Peleliu was reminiscent of the opening to Saving Private Ryan.

If this is the case, the American Civilization will have to be present. And what are unique American units? Or American buildings? How about fast food chain restaurants that automatically produce food, but cost unit mobility due to increased obesity?
