Re: one of the many fails of wicked
Wicked, Another overlooked card that can work well on a map like Deccan is "morning star". This grants your axe riders the same ability as your warchief to convert guardians. Deccan has several large treasures guarded by groups of thugees or dacoit. If you build a coral on age 2 and a grou...

Re: one of the many fails of wicked
Wicked, I had a chance to watch the game tonight and I have a few suggestions. 1) On Deccan you normally start with enough resources to build a marketplace right away. Do this and get the hunting upgrade. 2) Sioux has a weak economy, so when I ship the 3TP's, I try to upgrade the route so that one i...

Re: Spain revolution
Wow!! Brilliant game. I watched it twice- it was so wicked. It seems the the revolution option for Spain and the Ottomans allows you to mass 20+ Imperial Hussars. Although this option looks better and faster for Spain since they get their shipments more quickly. It looks like the only viable counter...

Re: Uhlans in Russian Literature - Who Knew?
Hmmm, tipsy uhlans. I guess that explains their pathing problems. Perhaps all of the heavy cavalry are a bit drunk in AoE3.

Re: Armed Protest
As a long time Republican, I got a call from the NRA (National Rifle Association) back during the Clinton administration trying to solicit donations. They were worried over some new gun control laws floating about in congress. I told the telemarketer that I supported gun control and even wished that...

Re: VOD: Getting the fanpatch to work
Sporting,
Thanks for the VOD. I had difficulty installing the latest version of the fp. I didn't realize that I had to unistall and delete the previous versions. Now I have fewer excuses for not playing on the fp....well other than finding anyone to play with!
Cheers!

Re: P10 - the flexible Portuguese strat
In the FP the only new advantage that the Ports have in age 1 and 2 is the hunting upgrade. Has that really been enough to make them so competitive in colonial? Couldn't this strategy work almost as well in ESO 1.01? I know the age times would be a bit slower, but would it be that significant?

Re: Aggressive German Rush
Someone playing Germans did this to me a few months ago on Deccan. He had built the outpost and stable near the side of my base by the trade route. Of course my military and warhut were on the plateau, so by the time I counter marched my troops to my TC, it was down and half the vils sabered by his ...

Re: Sioux Buffalo Bonaza for the Fan Patch
Thank you for the comments gentlemen. I found that Sioux have a strong rush, but if it fails you are really in trouble as the game progresses. Having some of these shipments can keep you going hopefully long enough to finish your opponent. One option is to place 6 or 8 vils on the fertility dance at...

Re: Sioux Buffalo Bonaza for the Fan Patch
Joe, You are correct that this strategy would have greater effect on some maps than others. When I originally wrote the strategy the Sioux were facing a real problem gathering enough food as the game progressed because of their weakness in farming cards/techs. The Sioux are unique in that they have ...

Sioux Buffalo Bonaza for the Fan Patch
Hi guys. This was a strategy that I posted on Heaven Games a few years ago for TWC 1.03. I think with the Sioux now getting a few buffalo with every economic type HC shipment, it will be even more effective. I think that with a few modifications, this could really work for the Sioux in the FP. Enjoy...

As one of the older adults in this clan, I can say that the major reason I joined the clan was the level of maturity displayed by its members. I don't know of all of the particular transgressions made by this person (if they are too egregious, then tough luck), but I agree with Greendude that we nee...

New Game Abbreviations
At the tender age of 42, I am a bit of a technological Luddite. It took me quite awhile to figure out what the gaming abbreviations LOL, ROTFL, AFTK, GL N HF, etc. meant. Then I began to think that "lol" really didn't cover the full range of humor experienced in the AoE3. So I have devised...

Re: China Players
It used to be that your monk and disciples were a good counter to strelets or xbows. Age to colonial with the white pagoda to boost your disciples and their max capacity. Then you can use CKN or the Peking Duck squad shipment to deal with HI. I don't know now if that would work so well after the pat...
