Re: Can Gas Cost get any Higher ?

There is a old concept called "tragedy of the commons" . I learned it in the context of overfishing. Fish were considered a common good and people tried to fish as much as possible on one day so the "competition" can't fish as much on the next day. Since everybody was doing it, o...

Re: Can Gas Cost get any Higher ?

Watch the movie I posted. Microalgae are not harvested from the ocean (would be unsustainable, unpredictable and the production much too low) but from open pond systems. And it does not need freshwater but brackish water. CO2 from a conventional powerplant (e.g. coal) could be used to enhance the pr...

Re: Can Gas Cost get any Higher ?

Bio-Fuel is an illusion. It won'T let us keep up the mobility we have right now. E.g. Germany if it will use all its fields for BIO-Fuel would get only max. 10% of its fuel need. U also cannot import it because there will be much more harm done to tropical forests who will be burned down to get the...

Re: Can Gas Cost get any Higher ?

Well, I finished my literature review about the production of biodiesel from microalgae a while ago. However, the work is probably going to be published next year, so I can't post it here (yet). Here is an interesting video from Seambiotic, the worldwide leader in biodiesel production from algae. ht...

Re: EURO 2008

hehe... Switzerland beat Portugal... hehe...

Well, as far as I heard, the referee of the opening game was biased against Switzerland. They deserved a win. Too bad they didn't make it farther.

Re: Can Gas Cost get any Higher ?

[quote=""blayzer13""]it seems to me that the most feasable solution to alternate energy sources is a mix of a lot of them. hydro power, wind powr, bio diesel, fuel cell, hydrogen cell, and other sources if all used to maximum potential could remove the dependency for fossil fuels...

Re: Can Gas Cost get any Higher ?

Well, I'm currently working on a project looking at microalgae for the production of biodiesel. Unfortunately, I'm too busy working at the moment to write anything in more detail... But to sum it up, biodiesel is a good replacement of petroleum diesel. It's renewable and carbon neutral (you t...

Re: Brits mirror vs a master sergeant

Thanks guys for the review! I will have a look at the game myself today. And see where I went wrong. So, if you are in a fight and there are idle villagers, no villagers building, wrong distribution of villagers etc. you first finish the fight and then go fixing the problem? I'm trying now to be eve...

Re: Brits mirror vs a master sergeant

hmm... I tried to download it myself and it is very slow. However, this could be because of this damn Australian internet provider which reduces the speed to a regular modem, last used 20 years ago, when we reach our monthly limit.

Brits mirror vs a master sergeant

Well, I lost :-(

Any comments where I could improve? I think I was very strong in the beginning but then I lost momentum.

In my opinion Jake Shimabukuro is just the best Ukulele player in the world :D
I have been to one of his concerts and even met him once in a music store. ;)

Re: Navarone's China Slam

Err.... to start aging up at 2:45, do you produce villagers before aging up? Or do you save all the food to age up?

Edit: hmm... I probably just have to look at a couple of recorded games ;-)
