So i just played Champion Mode

against DeadHandDan! ;D
it's the mode where you don't have to unlock stuff and everybody has the same. map was arabia
it was brilliant, we start off by booming, DHD ages early and tries to raid me. i soon follow him into the second age (bronze age i think) i go for a stable first and get some Sarissophoroi and following with Prodromos. then i advance to the Silver age (DHD was faster again) and get an archery range to start toxote production. meanwhile i take the map by adding storehouses everywhere to gather faraway gold and food. i get a 2nd rax and stable and mass upgrades throughout, mainly for cavalry and later only attack ups for the archers.
i build a fortress in the middle of the map showing my domiannce over dhd and then the first big battle takes place. the differnces between our armies is that i have mostly cavalry and he has a good mix of prodromos and spearmen and even some siege units! i'm thinking like i'll win that fight but he gets more and more army and overwhelms me by a margin, thenks to the hippikons! they are like cuirrassiers and maul through everything so my only choice is to mass the  up too. we advance to the latest age and DHD built a wonder  leaving me 10 minutes to react. i decide to build one of my own too and raid his later, if i can win the next army fight.
and i do so! he attacks again and my hippikons really make the difference, i had more army and they were upgraded better. once i finisihed off his army, i decide to proceed to demolish his wonder, with success! now it's only 3 minutes for me to emerge victorious, and my army is knocking at his door, destroying more stuff.

DHD resigns ( :P) and we just finished our first PvP game. Thanks Sporting_Lisbon!

that was a fun game !  hahaha

my early raid didn't do much cept push you off that berry patch

i invested sooooo much in those initial six battering rams....sucks all i managed to tear down was a single town centr  :'(


i laughed at you when i made that wonder  ;D
but you had the last laugh  >:(

that was a fortress you took down, not a town center^^
the game was great, but it was laggy which was annoying

btw i changed your comment to remove the many spaces that you added accidentally, makes scrollng so tiresome

Guys add me aswell I got premium eggy and persia (33% was off) so we can play a few games together. Im JeromAoE

Champion mode is a lot of fun, I personally feel like im not good enough to truly apply strategy yet though, but Im getting there. All players you play against are usually pretty bad unfortunately :(

Just a little bit off topic, but I came to think about it when you mentioned Xfire.
 
Xfire ingame isnt working for me when im palying aoeo. Any ideas how to fix that ?

Yeah its the same for me. I actually get a strange error message when I try and run Xfire and AOEO at the same time lol :S

xfire is known for fixing ingame overlay UI months after a game comes out
that's why i say switch to steam! 80% of my fl on xfire did, and the ones who didn't have steam too, so i could successfully make the switch

i got dhd, moose, NitroZ, Sporting_Lisbon, Valckrie, DaOof and some other guys that you don't know^^
only people who are still on xfire are you, daooof, co_deeh (from aoe3) and 1-w other dudes, rest all switched or don't use any gaming messengers anymore.
some use both  ;D

DHD also on Xfire. Problem is that I've actually made a lot of other aoe3 friends. I'll have to get on steam more I suppose. Im Jerom_B or JeromB if you'd just add me and give me the other guys' names
