Tips for AoeO

Scout around your base for sea, sea even if just a small pond with around 4 fish spots is very overpowered.


Early in the game build a storehouse next to the forage bushes and if there's no sea nor pond research the Picking Gloves for 20% on food.


Age with around 10-11 but try not to age later than that. As soon as you age get the 12% upgrade for wood.


If there's sea, fight for it early and spam warships.


As greek I like to use a hypa sarissophoroi combo, getting spearmen in case  there is cav around.

I think those arsenal (or is it blacksmith or sth..dunno) are pretty strong. Especially if you can pull of a inf only combo.

lol bart. I use the armory too especially to make sarissophoroi 1-hit kill persian archers :)

ye armory upgrades are definetely worth it and a good investment. The question is when is the perfect time to invest in armory? With 5/10/20/50 units? The investment is still rather large (250w building, techs at 100w 100g?) You can get like 10 bows for that kind of money. So for 10% improvement you need 100 bows in order to pay off?

I get it for sari to 1 hit kill persian archers when i have around 6+ saris. Dunno about the res price but it's definitely a good improvement when you're age III and you got loads of res.

Also, use farms as the LAST RESORT. Use berries and hunts all over the map since farms are a really slow food source, buying a bit of food isn't bad either if u suddenly run out of hunts. Not using farms will give you an edge over the opponent since most people start farms early.

Yeah thats totally true, Ive seen so many players, even former AoE3 players get on farms early even though especially aoe3 should teach you the importance of not doing so :D

it truly depends on your position in the game, when being aggressive yes its dumb to go farms. But when you are under pressure hunting out on the map is suicide since you will get raided hardcore. You will need good map control and los.

So far a good defensive position with multiple tc's in base with farms and stuff aint that bad. You will develop and easy maintainable eco which is hard to raid. So for lategame its definetely better
