bump, any news on this? who is still playing? i didn't log on for a month now, lets ee what the changes will bring that they announced (about better PvP mode etc.)

This game was released way too early.  The code Gas Powered Games inherited from Robot Entertainment is such a mess that they can't balance PvP atm without wreaking havoc on PvE.  The PvP gameplay is excellent though when one can get a fair match.  If one doesn't have the time to acquire decent gear, I would hold off until November when they release a grind less PvP system. That being one where no gear acquisition or min level capital city is required for fair pvp.  This game has potential, but is lacking so many basic rts features atm.  It could be a really good game in six months, but that is if anyone is still playing it.

I totally agree. It feels like the game isnt complete yet. When they released the beta it wasn't even a game, now it can maybe be considered a "beta".

To be fair: M$ ordered the game from Robot Entertainemnt. That includes, that they have to make a requirement specification what the game should consist of.
Robot Entertainemnt made then a technical specification how it wants to meet the requirements and M$ had to approve it. That how things work in IT
M$ never wanted a real PvP mode because most players were single player of the AOE series. Now that they run in numerous complaints and they change their mind.
If u change ur mind after implementation and change requirements,the effort to implement such change is much higher than if u have thought of it before.

Cool that's my server.   Renegades Legendary is farmable.   Quad Hihey posted it on aoeo forums but it got deleted.   You go for the treasure chests on the map as they good drops and you don't complete quest.   You keep your chests even when you restart a quest. His build order was starting five on food build 5 vils to gold.  build stables and build saris.  Scout as much as possible but most likely scout will get killed.  Chests will be either be on the left or right side of map.  To get them you manuever your saris such that the ai balistaes aoe damage hits the treasure guardians, thus starting a fight between the ai and the chest guardians.  The ai will kill them and then you can collect your reward.   The drop rates on these chests are pretty good, however you don't farm empire points or gold like the old renegade farming method.

They promised no gear PvP.

I think GPG does now what they are doing and they are trying to make up for the mistakes of RE, but its expensive and hard to do so..
